Suicide Prevention

We are all superheroes on the inside!  We have relationship issues, superhuman powers, and are flawed.  We also all want to belong and feel loved and cared for.

People experiencing feelings of suicide don't really want to die... they are just tired of feeling deep, devastating, emotional pain.  They feel like a burden to others, or believe no one will listen or understand.

Playful Awareness has 12 years of experience helping all sorts of people and families to feel better and create lives worth living.  We also believe if you can experience joy for 15 minutes today and believe you can experience 15 minutes of joy tomorrow, it makes it really hard to want to die.

Playful Awareness uses the transformative powers of storytelling, creativity, superheroes, and the effectiveness of coping skills to help people rise out of their emotional pain, and believe they are worthy of love and affection.

We help parents understand the warning signs of severe depression, understand the difference between self-harm and suicidal thoughts and help families have open conversations about suicide and mental wellness.

We help families create safety plans to keep people they love safe without overreacting or minimizing their child or teen's feelings of sadness, depression, grief or feeling overwhelmed.
